Meta has officially rolled out its paid verification program in the U.S it is live and you may receive an email letting you know that you’ve been invited to actually apply for it or you may see a prompt inside of the app, either way, be on the lookout for it but I wanted to let you know about a few things that are very important before you actually sign up for the verified program if you’ve already decided that you’re going to sign up for the program because I am but there are a few things that you should know
Number one the price is $12 or $11.99 but that is only if you pay through the web if you pay through the app if you go through the Apple App Store or if you just use the Facebook app to sign up you are going to pay an additional three dollars because Apple charges a $30 tax on every transaction that goes through their App Store I know they literally tax the internet but that’s beside the point so so make sure that when you sign up you sign up on your laptop on a desktop computer using a web browser and sign up
The second thing you should do is once you sign up you cannot change your profile name and you cannot change your profile photo now your profile name must match your government name so you can’t have any of the childish names that we may have started our Facebook accounts with 10 years ago you have to use your government name. you’re not getting verified at all so make sure your name matches up with your photo identification card.
Also, make sure you choose a profile picture that you want to have because once you get verified you cannot change it and the only way for you to change it is to go through a laborious process with the meta-verification Center to actually change your profile picture so make sure you set the profile pictures that you want before you sign up on Facebook or Instagram another new development about this subscription that you might want to know about before you sign up for it is this we heard feedback that how this piece of the offering worked was causing
the application must have a government-issued ID that matches the name on your profile and profile photo so again like I said before you’re going to have to use your government name even if it’s Instagram your Instagram account can’t be the best coach of them all or boss baby coach you know it’s just not going to work you got to use your real name Alana Michelle or whatever it is you just have to use your real name if you want to get verified on Facebook or Instagram and then the last one is you
process So Meta verified is officially here in the US if you signed up to join the waitlist make sure you keep an eye on your email the Instagram app and the Facebook app for a prompt to sign up but go ahead and make sure that your profile name your profile picture and especially your username on Instagram and your date of birth is already set up the way that you want it to be and also make sure that your names match your government names on your photo ID that you will be submitting to Facebook for verification
and you will have no problem getting signed up at all
